Le Thanh Than indicted for deceiving customers at CT6 Kien Hung project

The Hanoi People's Procuracy has issued an indictment against Le Thanh Than, Chairman and General Director of Bemes Company and Muong Thanh Group, for deceiving customers. The charges stem from serious violations at the CT6 Kien Hung project in Hanoi.

According to the indictment, Than directed construction activities that deviated significantly from the approved 1/500 detailed planning. These violations included increasing building area and height, changing usage functions, and constructing an unauthorized tower (CT6C) not included in the original plan. Consequently, 519 apartments were sold to customers who are unable to be issued land use rights certificates. The illegal profits from these activities are estimated at 531 billion VND.

In addition to Than, five former officials from Kien Hung Ward and Ha Dong District construction inspection have been indicted for negligence of duty. To address remediation, BIDV has committed a credit line of 1,000 billion VND to Bemes Company for compensation. Bemes Company has also reported that it has proactively negotiated with some victims and repurchased 39 apartments at the CT6C project to mitigate civil liabilities.
