L3Harris advances defense tech with Red Wolf flight and VAMPIRE drone defense deliveries

L3Harris Technologies and the U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation Command have successfully completed the first flight demonstration of the Red Wolf air-launched effect from an MH-60 helicopter. This test validates launch system compatibility and flight characteristics, establishing a method for integrating L3Harris launched effects vehicles with Black Hawk helicopters and other H-60 variants.

Separately, the U.S. Army has received its first deliveries of the VAMPIRE counter-drone system from L3Harris. The purchase, valued at up to $106 million, aims to address urgent requirements for layered defense against hostile drones and remotely piloted aircraft. The VAMPIRE system provides reconnaissance and precision strike capabilities and is produced at a dedicated facility in Huntsville, Alabama.
