L3Harris secures $4.7B PAC-3 missile propulsion contract

L3Harris Technologies has secured a $4.7 billion, seven-year agreement with Lockheed Martin to manufacture propulsion components for the PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) interceptor. This contract represents the largest PAC-3 propulsion award in the history of L3Harris.

The agreement covers the production of three critical components: an advanced two-pulse solid rocket motor, the Lethality Enhancer system, and Attitude Control Motors. These components are essential for the MSE interceptor platform, providing the necessary thrust and maneuverability during flight engagements.

To meet the anticipated manufacturing demands, L3Harris has begun construction on two new production facilities at its site in Camden, Arkansas. These plants, which broke ground in June, are scheduled to become operational by 2027 to increase manufacturing capacity and throughput. While the contract is significant, it remains undefinitized, meaning final pricing and detailed terms are still under negotiation and subject to sustained Department of Defense funding.
