L3Harris signs multi-year contracts to boost THAAD and Patriot missile interceptor production

L3Harris Technologies has entered a seven‑year framework agreement with the U.S. Department of Defense and Lockheed Martin to quadruple propulsion production for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system. The contract covers solid‑rocket boost motors and liquid divert and attitude control systems, with manufacturing in Huntsville, Alabama; Camden, Arkansas; and Los Angeles, California, among other sites.

In a related Pentagon announcement, L3Harris will also nearly triple output of key components for the Patriot PAC‑3 MSE interceptor, including the two‑pulse solid‑rocket motor and the Lethality Enhancer. The expansion aims to replenish U.S. interceptor stockpiles and support allies amid heightened operational use during the Iran conflict. Ken Bedingfield, president of missile solutions at L3Harris, said the agreements will enable unprecedented production rates and enhance the "Arsenal of Freedom."
