L7 co‑founder Jennifer Finch faces aggressive brain cancer

L7 bassist and co‑founder Jennifer Finch has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. The illness progressed rapidly, leading to multiple surgeries and significant physical limitations. Finch now requires extensive in‑home medical care, rehabilitation, and professional nursing support.

Friends, family and the band have launched a GoFundMe campaign to cover nursing, physiotherapy, speech therapy, medical equipment and other out‑of‑pocket expenses. As of the latest reports the fundraiser has raised over $165,000 toward a $350,000 goal.

Finch will be unable to join L7 for the North‑American leg of the band's "Last Hurrah Tour" scheduled to start in October 2026. She has asked the remaining members to continue the tour as planned; the band will replace her onstage with touring bassist Tsuzumi Okai. Bandmate Donita Sparks expressed the group’s devastation and commitment to supporting Finch’s care while honoring her request to keep the tour on schedule.
