La Altagracia leads Dominican Republic meat and milk production
The province of La Altagracia has become the leading producer of meat and milk in the Dominican Republic, hosting more than 215,000 head of cattle, according to Minister of Agriculture Francisco Oliverio Espaillat Bencosme.
During the inauguration of the 35th Eastern Region Agricultural Fair, organized by the Association of Nisibón Ranchers (AGANI), the government delivered a modern meat packing plant to the association. This infrastructure is intended to strengthen processing capabilities and add value to local livestock production.
Minister Espaillat Bencosme emphasized the government's commitment to supporting the sector through improved animal health, technical assistance, genetic improvement, access to financing, and technological innovation. AGANI president Pedro Castillo noted that the ministry's support has been fundamental in addressing the needs of regional producers.
