La Araucanía students recognized in national Booktubers initiative

Eight students from the La Araucanía region have been recognized nationally in the sixth edition of the Booktubers School Libraries (CRA) initiative. Organized by the Chilean Ministry of Education through its Reading Center and School Library program, the contest invites students from preschool through high school to recommend their favorite books in videos of up to 90 seconds.

The 2026 edition saw a record 4,460 participants nationwide, highlighting the program's success in promoting reading and digital inclusion. La Araucanía saw significant regional growth with 359 applications. Aaron Ríos Morales, the regional education official, noted that reading is a key pillar of the ‘Plan Chile Avanza y Aprende’, emphasizing the role of participants as ambassadors for literacy within their schools.
