La Aurora launches Santiago Collection cigars in the United States

La Aurora USA announced the U.S. release of its new Santiago Collection, a mixed‑filler line that will debut in August. The first offering, the Santiago Maduro, is available in a 5 × 50 Robusto ($2.50) and a 6 × 54 Toro ($3.00). It uses an Indonesian Maduro wrapper and binder with filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Master blender Manuel Inoa explained that the blend combines long‑filler and medium‑filler tobaccos to achieve balanced sweetness and depth.

A second blend, the Santiago Connecticut, is scheduled to arrive in September. It features an Ecuadorian Connecticut‑seed wrapper over an Indonesian binder with the same Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. Both lines are sold as bundles of 20 cigars at $50 for the Robusto and $60 for the Toro. The collection is named after Santiago de los Caballeros, a key hub of the Dominican Republic’s cigar industry.
