La Beba Teatro faces eviction in Río Ceballos

La Beba Teatro, a cultural institution in Río Ceballos with over 30 years of history, is facing potential eviction following an unfavorable judicial ruling. Members of the collective, including Nicolás Jara, Amalia Medina, and Matías Etchezar, reported that despite the local City Council declaring the space ‘of public interest subject to expropriation,’ the legal process has continued.

The group has managed the space for over a decade, investing in essential infrastructure such as roofing, plumbing, and electricity. They are currently in the appeals stage of the legal process and are awaiting action from the municipality regarding the expropriation of the property.
