Latin American municipalities launch diverse urban infrastructure projects
Various municipalities across Latin America are implementing diverse urban infrastructure projects to improve public services and safety.
In Argentina, Santa Fe has invested over $326 million in accessible sidewalk improvements near 23 educational institutions, with a goal of reaching 50. In Santiago del Estero, 58 blocks of paving and LED lighting were inaugurated in several neighborhoods. Other local projects include the remodeling of a plaza in Barrio Belén, roadworks in Las Talitas, and the revitalization of the Necochea street corridor in La Boca. Additionally, Neuquén is advancing coastal walkway works, and Santa Fe is modifying street layouts to facilitate the construction of a new health center in Barrio Yapeyú.
In Chile, the Maipú Municipal Council approved a $249 million investment for new traffic lights at three high-risk intersections. Meanwhile, in Arica, Aguas del Altiplano has launched a plan to replace over four kilometers of water networks to prevent leaks and ensure supply. In Venezuela, rehabilitation works are underway on Avenida Libertador in Maturín to enhance commercial visibility and urban functionality.
