La Calera hosts opening night of Vive La Calera 2026 festival

The inaugural night of the Vive La Calera 2026 Provincial Voice Festival took place at the Estadio Nicolás Chahuán Nazar, featuring a diverse musical lineup and a singing competition.

Chilean rapper Anita Tijoux opened the event with a hip-hop performance, which included a collaborative segment with the Municipal Orchestra of the commune. The festival also hosted a singing competition where contestants performed romantic ballads and 1970s classics. Four finalists—Rosa López, Solange Meneses, Miguel Cortés, and Nathalie Villa—have advanced to compete for a 1 million peso prize.

Musical performances included Grupo Disparo and the group Zúmbale Primo, who are currently celebrating their 10th anniversary. Zúmbale Primo guitarist Hernán Lemus noted the growing popularity of cumbia ranchera in Chile and discussed the group's upcoming album, ‘Inicio’.
