La Carpio women complete baking training program

In Costa Rica, 19 women from the La Carpio community have completed a baking training program through the ‘Academia Pan de Luz’ project. Developed by Fundación SIFAIS and supported by a $15,000 contribution from Ferretería EPA, the initiative aimed to provide technical skills in bread making and entrepreneurship to promote economic self-sufficiency among vulnerable populations.

The participants, primarily women aged 18 to 65, gained practical knowledge in producing various types of bread to create income-generating opportunities and foster personal autonomy.
