La Casa de León en Asturias begins patronal festivities

La Casa de León en Asturias has launched its patronal festivities in honor of the Virgen del Camino and San Froilán. The celebrations began with a mass at the Capuchin Fathers' church, featuring performances by the Coral San Antonio de Gijón.

Begoña Fernández-Costales Muñiz, president of the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs of Asturias (FEDA), delivered the opening speech. During her address, she emphasized the deep historical, cultural, and personal ties between the León and Asturias regions, describing her identity as ‘asturleonesa’. She advocated for building bridges between businesses, institutions, and individuals to maintain regional roots.

The event, which marks the continued activity of the association founded in 1983, serves as a cultural and social hub for the Leonese community in Asturias. The inaugural day concluded with a tasting of traditional Leonese products.
