Regional community initiatives launch across France and Switzerland

Various municipalities in France and Switzerland are launching community-focused initiatives, including sports programs, association forums, and local workshops.

In La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, the FREE-SPORT project will offer free access to communal sports halls on Sunday afternoons starting August 30, 2026, to promote social inclusion and public health. In France, several regions are hosting association forums to help citizens discover local sports, cultural, and charitable activities. Notable events include a sports discovery day in Grande-Synthe, a large-scale forum in the Pays de Fontainebleau, and a "find your sport" event in Besançon.

Other local initiatives include risk prevention training for student associations, a garden reconstruction workshop in Montfort-sur-Argens focused on fire prevention, and a community flea market organized by the CGT union in L'Aigle to foster social connection.
