La Chaux-de-Fonds Museums Park to reopen following renovations

The Museums Park in La Chaux-de-Fonds is set to partially reopen to the public on Saturday, August 29, 2026, following renovations to the International Watchmaking Museum (MIH) to improve waterproofing.

The reopening event involves a collaboration between the History Museum, the International Watchmaking Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts. Key updates include the opening of the Museums Café and terrace, managed by Marc Montavon, which will operate Tuesday through Sunday.

A new physical connection has been established between the History Museum and the MIH via a new elevator. The History Museum is also debuting a new reference exhibition titled ‘Work in Progress: the revolutions of an industrial city’. The celebratory day will feature guided tours, children's activities, and musical performances ranging from classical music to DJ sets.
