La Chorrera modifies parade routes for November 3 and 4
Authorities in La Chorrera, Panama, have approved the traditional civic parades scheduled for November 3 and 4, but with significant modifications to the routes and protocols to ensure the safety of students and spectators. Following coordination between the Mayor's Office, the Ministry of Education, and security forces—including the National Police, Fire Department, Red Cross, and Sinaproc—the official ceremony and starting point will move to Parque Tomás Martín Feuillet. The parade route will proceed toward the provincial headquarters of the Ministry of Education on Avenida de las Américas, extending to Panadería Cesarín.
Mayor Eloy Chong stated that the decision to proceed follows requests from parents and schools that have prepared for these events throughout the year. The celebrations are also intended to support local micro-entrepreneurs, artisans, and merchants.
Additionally, the municipality is maintaining humanitarian aid efforts for provinces affected by the October 9 earthquake. A collection point for donations has been organized at Parque Libertador to assist families impacted by the seismic event.
