La Ciotat to host SHAIKE Film Festival featuring AI competition

The SHAIKE Film Festival will debut on October 2 and 3, 2026, at the Eden Théâtre in La Ciotat, France. As the world’s oldest operating cinema, the venue will host a competition that pits traditionally filmed movies against works entirely generated by artificial intelligence.

Presided over by director Olivier Dahan, the festival has already received over 450 film entries from more than 40 countries. The jury includes various industry professionals, such as Eric Judor, Jacques Malaterre, and visual effects supervisor Seb Caudron, all evaluating entries based on the same artistic and narrative standards.
