La Compagnie to launch Düsseldorf-Newark direct flights in 2027
French boutique airline La Compagnie will launch a new direct service between Düsseldorf and Newark Liberty International Airport starting April 21, 2027. This marks the airline’s debut in the German market and restores direct transatlantic connections for Düsseldorf, which had lacked a North American route since Delta Air Lines discontinued its Atlanta service in late 2023.
The route will operate five times per week using an Airbus A321neo LR. Following the airline’s unique business model, the aircraft will feature an all-business-class configuration with 76 seats in a 2-2 layout, all of which convert into fully flat beds. Onboard amenities include complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, seasonal menus paired with French wines, and amenity kits.
La Compagnie cited the economic importance of the North Rhine-Westphalia region—which hosts over 1,700 American companies—as a primary driver for the expansion. Passengers will also receive lounge access, including the Sky Lounge at Düsseldorf Airport and the airline’s private lounge at Newark.
