La Costa Municipality and residents form working group over EDEA electricity hikes

Authorities from the Municipality of La Costa and local residents have agreed to establish a working group to address significant increases in electricity tariffs imposed by EDEA. Following a protest in Mar del Tuyú, ten community representatives met with municipal officials to coordinate a response.

The municipality has committed to providing technical teams to assist the legal counsel representing the affected residents. As part of the agreement, power supply interruptions are to be suspended while a solution is sought. Additionally, the previous 15-day limit proposed by EDEA for these interruptions was rejected by users.

While the working group begins its sessions, residents are collecting utility bills and documentation to support formal complaints before municipal, provincial, and national regulatory bodies. The initial protest involved some tension and incidents at the municipal building, which authorities are currently investigating.
