La Flèche mayor condemns neo‑Nazi graffiti and orders investigation
In the early hours of 3 August 2026, neo‑Nazi tags featuring swastikas and Celtic crosses were discovered at four sites in La Flèche, Sarthe, including the municipal bowling alley, the road near the D’Estournelle de Constant lycée, the sidewalk opposite the town hall and Rue de Ceinture. Mayor Romain Lemoigne denounced the acts as “odious” and filed a complaint, ordering the municipal services to clean the markings.
The investigation has been handed to the gendarmerie brigade of La Flèche under the authority of the Mans prosecutor’s office. The mayor noted that similar vandalism occurred in April 2025 and highlighted that La Flèche became the first RN‑led municipality in the Pays‑de‑la‑Loire region after the March 2026 elections. The town’s authorities are working to identify the perpetrators and restore public order.
