La Flèche Zoo announces birth of four cheetah cubs
The La Flèche Zoo in Sarthe, France, has announced the birth of four cheetah cubs—three males and one female—born on May 26. The births are the result of a coordinated breeding program launched in February to support the conservation of the species, which is classified as "vulnerable" by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
The cubs, weighing approximately three kilograms each, are the offspring of a seven-year-old female named Sethi and a male named Solo. The breeding effort is part of a collaborative initiative between zoological institutions designed to maintain genetic diversity among captive populations of endangered animals.
