La Florida: Four pedestrians injured by Carabineros patrol car

Four people were injured after being struck by a Carabineros patrol car in the La Florida commune of Santiago. The incident occurred at the intersection of Rojas Magallanes and Vicuña Mackenna Avenue while the vehicle was responding to a call for support at the 38th Police Station in Puente Alto.

Preliminary reports indicate that the officers had to perform an evasive maneuver after a public transport bus changed lanes. The maneuver resulted in three women and one man being struck. While all victims received medical attention from firefighters and SAMU, they are reported to be out of life-threatening danger.

The Traffic Accident Investigation Section (SIAT) has been tasked with reconstructing the event to determine the exact cause of the accident. Traffic was temporarily suspended in the area to facilitate the investigation.
