La France insoumise boycotts BFMTV news channel
The political movement La France insoumise (LFI) has announced a boycott of the news channel BFMTV for the remainder of the week. The decision comes as a protest against how the network has treated the party's representatives in recent months.
In a formal statement, LFI expressed dissatisfaction with being invited primarily to provide ‘superficial commentary’ to drive audience ratings. The movement also criticized the network's procedural conduct, citing last-minute cancellations, unjustified changes to discussion topics, and interviews that unexpectedly transform into unannounced debates.
As part of this boycott, Mathilde Panot did not participate in a special debate on climate held on Tuesday, and Manuel Bompard will not appear on the program BFM Politique this coming Sunday. LFI emphasized that its deputies and spokespeople are not mere commentators or ‘adjustment variables’ for the network.
