La Gacilly: Three burglars arrested and sentenced after jewelry thefts

Three burglars have been arrested in La Gacilly following an investigation into a series of thefts across the western region of France. The investigation, led by the Saint-Avé gendarmerie and the Vannes prosecutor's office, began after a burglary was discovered in Ploeren on September 5, 2026.

During searches of the suspects' residence, authorities recovered over 13,000 euros in cash and approximately one hundred pieces of jewelry. The group was also linked to a burglary in the Belz sector on September 1, 2026. Two of the three suspects admitted to the crimes.

On September 11, 2026, the individuals appeared before the public prosecutor for immediate trial. One suspect received a two-year prison sentence, while the other two were sentenced to 12 months. Several pieces of jewelry have already been returned to the victims, and investigations continue to identify the owners of the remaining recovered items.
