La Guaira launches rehabilitation plan for 43 earthquake-damaged beaches

Authorities in La Guaira, Venezuela, have launched a rehabilitation plan for 43 beaches damaged by a double earthquake on June 24. Governor José Alejandro Terán led the delivery of over 40 tons of construction materials and tools to support the repair of kiosks, sanitary facilities, and other tourist infrastructure.

The recovery effort involves more than 3,000 service providers who will participate in the reconstruction, with many offering voluntary labor to repair their own kiosks. The plan includes debris removal and structural repairs across the coastal entity.

In addition to physical reconstruction, the regional government is implementing a professional training program in partnership with the Escuela de Turismo de La Guaira and the Ministry of Tourism. This initiative aims to certify over 3,500 workers in customer service and hospitality management. Approximately 1,178 merchants have already enrolled in the program.
