La Guajira authorities strengthen security against criminal structures
Authorities in La Guajira, Colombia, are intensifying efforts to combat criminal organizations. Governor Jairo Aguilar Deluque led a security council involving the National Police, Army, Navy, and Attorney General's Office to define operational and intelligence strategies.
Key actions include focused operations in Riohacha, Uribia, and Maicao to target armed groups and their financing. The strategy involves using drones for reconnaissance and anti-drone systems, as well as creating a criminal map to identify leaders and those responsible for illicit economies. The Second Brigade has also committed to increasing military presence in Dibulla, Manaure, and Riohacha to secure main and secondary roads.
