La Guardia inaugurates new accessible birdwatching observatory
A new accessible birdwatching observatory has been inaugurated at the La Guardia lagoons in Toledo, Spain. Located at the third lagoon of the complex, the infrastructure is designed to allow visitors to observe and photograph ornithological wildlife without disturbing their natural habitat.
The project was promoted by the La Guardia City Council and received significant financial support from the Diputación de Toledo, which contributed 17,000 euros of the total 17,500 euro investment. The observatory was built with specific accessibility criteria to ensure that individuals with reduced mobility can also enjoy the natural environment.
Local officials, including Marina García and Marta Maroto, highlighted that the initiative aims to protect natural heritage while boosting rural development through nature-based tourism.
