LA Jazz Festival canceled and postponed to 2027

The inaugural LA Jazz Festival has been canceled and postponed until 2027. Festival founder and CEO Martin Ludlow cited "significant, unanticipated last-minute public safety and municipal costs associated with the final permitting" as the primary reason for the decision.

The festival, which was scheduled to run through late August, featured a high-profile lineup including John Legend, Janelle Monáe, Parliament Funkadelic, Charlie Wilson, and Raphael Saadiq. The marquee "Jazz on the Beach" concerts were set for August 22–23 at Dockweiler Beach.

The sudden cancellation has caused frustration among musicians and vendors who had already incurred expenses for travel and rehearsals. Organizers have announced that all current ticket holders will receive full refunds within 30 days.
