La Laguna Economic and Social Forum debates sustainable mobility

The fifth technical session of the La Laguna Economic and Social Forum (FES) focused on sustainable mobility within the municipality. The event served as the conclusion to awareness activities held during European Mobility Week, involving local schools and citizens.

Institutional leaders, including councilors Ángel Chinea and Domingo Galván, opened the session by discussing the challenges of accessibility, safety, and sustainability in contemporary urban design. The program featured technical presentations from various experts, including representatives from AECOC regarding commercial mobility in historic districts, and architect Susana Reyes on the role of parking areas in deterring private vehicle use.

Specialists from SAGULPA and TITSA also contributed to discussions on reducing emissions and improving public transport alternatives. The event concluded with a public round table where citizens debated topics such as bus frequencies, school transport, pedestrian walkways, green zones, and the use of trams and taxis.
