La Laguna Economic and Social Forum to host mobility debate

The Economic and Social Forum of La Laguna (FES) will host its fifth session titled ‘Mobility for all people’ on September 22 at the Las Madres de Padre Anchieta citizen center. The event is part of the European Mobility Week and aims to address contemporary urban challenges.

Key topics for discussion include the relationship between mobility and local commercial activity, the future of vehicle parking, the implementation of a Low Emission Zone, and the metropolitan public transport strategy of Tenerife. Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, Mayor of La Laguna and president of the FES, emphasized the importance of balancing economic activity with sustainability and improving public transport alternatives to private vehicles.

Scheduled speakers include sustainable mobility specialist César García, who will discuss the Low Emission Zone, and architect Susana Re, the technical director of Works, Infrastructure, and Accessibility for the La Laguna City Council.
