La Laguna hosts cultural festivals and youth activities

San Cristóbal de La Laguna is hosting various cultural events this week, including the Festival de Mayores as part of the Fiestas del Cristo celebrations. On Monday, September 7, the festival will feature performances by Shaila Dúrcal, Trío Zapatista, and the rumba catalana group Los Manolos. The event, organized by the Social Welfare and Festivities departments, expects approximately 2,000 attendees and includes accessibility measures such as sign language interpreters and magnetic loops.

Additionally, the municipality is expanding its Pasaporte Joven 2026 program. This initiative offers over 100 free activities for young people, including music, outdoor cinema, video games, and sports. The program aims to decentralize leisure options across various neighborhoods and towns, such as Punta del Hidalgo, Tejina, and Las Mercedes, with activities scheduled to continue through October 3.
