La Laguna Mayor proposes honors for Alumni ULL

The Mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, will present a motion to the City Council on Thursday, October 8, to initiate a process of honors and distinctions for the Alumni Association of the University of La Laguna (Alumni ULL).

The proposal aims to make the recognition institutional with support from all political forces. Alumni ULL, which has over 2,500 members, was founded in 2001 and is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The association has been recognized as an Association of Public Interest in the Canary Islands since 2019.

Gutiérrez highlighted the organization's role in promoting university culture and maintaining historical links between the academic institution and the city. The association's activities include photographic exhibitions, symphonic band concerts, and cultural routes.
