La Laguna to host fourth Premios Mujer de Hoy awards ceremony

The fourth edition of the ‘Premios Mujer de Hoy’ (Women of Today Awards) will be held on Wednesday, October 14, at the Teatro Leal in La Laguna. This marks the first time the event will be hosted in the municipality.

Organized by the Centro de Iniciativas y Turismo del Nordeste de Tenerife (CIT Nordeste) in collaboration with the Cabildo de Tenerife, BPW Canarias, and the University of La Laguna, the ceremony will recognize twelve influential women from various sectors of Tenerife society. The event will feature the premiere of ‘ATLÁNTICA’, a multidisciplinary performance combining music, dance, acting, and audiovisual creation.

Local officials highlighted the importance of the awards in recognizing women who have contributed to the development of their communities through dedicated work, often without seeking public recognition. Among the honorees is Ana María González Hernández, recognized for her career in early childhood education in Tejina.
