La Libertad Avanza challenges Massa over term limit changes

La Libertad Avanza (LLA) has challenged Sergio Massa and the Frente Renovador regarding potential changes to term limit laws for the 2026 elections. LLA has reaffirmed its opposition to any attempts to eliminate current term limits for local and provincial officials.

While Massa maintains that he opposes indefinite reelections—noting that his party helped pass the 2016 law limiting consecutive terms for mayors, provincial legislators, and councilors—he has signaled to Peronist leaders that his bloc might not actively block a legislative majority if other sectors successfully vote to modify the law.
