The Regional Government of La Libertad has launched the construction of the first citizen security operations center in the province of Julcán, Peru. The project involves an investment exceeding S/9 million and is being executed through the ‘Works for Taxes’ (Obras por Impuestos) mechanism, funded by the Consorcio Seguridad Julcán.
The new two-story facility will be equipped with advanced technology to enhance crime prevention and surveillance, including 40 PTZ cameras, 40 IP megaphones, radio communication equipment, UPS units, and a fiber optic network. The center is designed for permanent monitoring to improve emergency response capabilities.
In addition to the infrastructure, the project includes the delivery of a pickup truck, a motorcycle, uniforms for security personnel and neighborhood committees, and office furniture. The construction is expected to be completed within six months and is intended to benefit more than 17,000 residents.
