La Libertad region provides economic aid to orphaned children

The Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations has expanded economic assistance for orphaned children and adolescents in the La Libertad region of Peru. During an event in Trujillo, officials announced that 168 new beneficiaries will be incorporated into the program for the November-December 2026 period, representing an additional investment of S/ 67,200.

Currently, 5,658 minors across the 12 provinces of La Libertad receive this support, with a bimonthly investment of S/ 2,263,200. Nationally, 103,757 beneficiaries receive similar aid. Each recipient is granted S/ 400 every two months to help cover essential costs related to health, nutrition, and education.

The initiative, managed by the National Integral Program for Family Welfare (INABIF), also included an educational orientation fair. This fair aims to help 16-year-old adolescents access educational programs to ensure they maintain their benefits and continue their studies as they approach adulthood.
