Argentine basketball leagues confirm 2026/27 schedules and rosters

The 2026/27 season for Argentina's top-tier basketball league, Liga Nacional, is set to begin on September 28. The opening match will feature Lanús against the defending champion, Gimnasia y Esgrima de Comodoro Rivadavia.

Simultaneously, the structure for La Liga Argentina, the nation's second division, has been finalized by the Asociación de Clubes. The tournament will consist of 34 clubs divided into two conferences: the North and the South, each containing 17 teams. The competition will follow a format of 32 regular-season games with a home-and-away system.

The second division sees seven new institutions, including River Plate and Bartolomé Mitre following their promotion from La Liga Federal. Other notable movements include Unión de Santa Fe moving down from the top tier and Regatas de San Nicolás acquiring a spot previously held by Echagüe de Paraná.
