La Liga investigates attack on Eduardo Camavinga by Barcelona fans
La Liga organizers are referring an incident involving Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga to the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) Disciplinary Committee. The investigation follows an El Clasico match at Camp Nou where Barcelona supporters allegedly swung flagpoles at Camavinga during Real Madrid's celebrations.
The incident occurred in the 87th minute after Kylian Mbappe scored to secure a 2-1 victory for Real Madrid. Camavinga, who provided the assist for the winning goal, was seen shielding himself from the flagpoles before teammates intervened to move him away from the area.
Referee Juan Martinez Munuera reported that a water bottle and a soda can were also thrown from the stands during the celebrations, though neither object struck a player. The match was briefly paused for 1 minute and 20 seconds to address the objects being thrown.
