Wildfires and industrial fires reported across Argentina, Peru, and Spain
Multiple regions are facing significant fire emergencies. In Catamarca, Argentina, active forest fires in Andalgalá and Capayán have affected over 1,500 hectares, with high altitudes complicating access. Emergency responders have reported equipment shortages and extreme heat, leading to health issues for personnel.
In Peru, two forest fires in Santo Domingo de Acobamba destroyed crops including avocado, coffee, and corn, while also killing livestock. Meanwhile, in Spain, an industrial fire at a Prudesa sunflower seed warehouse in La Luisiana caused the roof to collapse, though no injuries were reported.
Other incidents include residential and agricultural fires in Argentina, such as a warehouse fire in Oberá, cane field fires in Alberdi and San Martín, and a vehicle fire in Colonia Ayuí. In Jujuy, authorities have issued an extreme risk alert due to dry vegetation and high temperatures.
