La Maria releases new single ‘La mentida’ for film Eixam

Singer La Maria has released ‘La mentida’, an original song composed specifically for the upcoming film ‘Eixam’, directed by Óscar Bernàcer. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on September 4.

The song explores the concept of lying as a human mechanism for survival, protection, and avoiding harm. La Maria stated that the track aims to empathize with the film's characters, who often use deception to navigate difficult realities and social exclusion. The music was recorded at Hankins Studio with cellist Teresa Alamà and composer Raquel Sánchez.

‘Eixam’ follows a narrative involving themes of death, alcoholism, and theft, focusing on characters who prefer falsehoods over overwhelming truths. In addition to providing the soundtrack, La Maria also appears as an actress in the film.
