Youth Sports and Health Initiatives in Mexico, Argentina and Belarus

In Puebla, Mexico, Secretary of Sport and Youth Gaby “La Bonita” Sánchez led a physical‑activation day for children and families, emphasizing sport as a tool for prevention and social cohesion. In the State of Mexico, more than 32,000 young volunteers participated in the national “Tequios por la Transformación y Cortos por la Paz” campaign, cleaning and restoring public spaces across 73 municipalities under the coordination of the Institute of Youth (IMEJ) and its director Sergio Jassiel Zamora López.

In Argentina’s La Matanza district, municipal programs expanded mental‑health services for youths, adding new listening and support spaces to address anxiety, depression and social vulnerability. The city of Olavarría organized a “Vuelta al Cole” event with sports, games and free haircuts to ease the return to school for children and adolescents, highlighted by Mayor Maximiliano Wesner.

Belarus’s capital Minsk highlighted modern educational facilities that combine academic learning with laboratories, creative workshops and extensive sports infrastructure, as described by institute rector Tatiana Moroz. In Tijuana, Mexico, CESUN University launched its eighth “5K Kilometers that Transform Lives” race, raising funds for emotional‑health programs for local youth, promoted by academic director Ana Gabriela Cervantes Fuentes.
