Argentina regional leaders report infrastructure and health pressures

Various regional leaders in Argentina are addressing the consequences of national economic policies and environmental threats. In Formosa, the provincial government has formally demanded that Vialidad Nacional perform urgent dredging and maintenance on National Routes 11 and 95 within ten days. This action aims to prevent flooding of over 1.7 million hectares of productive land caused by the El Niño phenomenon and inadequate drainage maintenance.

In Catamarca, Governor Raúl Jalil announced that the province will assume the financing for the San Juan Bautista Hospital, which is currently 30% complete, following changes in national funding agreements. Other health infrastructure projects in Antofagasta de la Sierra and Belén are also progressing.

In Tierra del Fuego, local officials have raised alarms regarding job losses in the industrial and commercial sectors, with reports of over 10,000 private sector jobs lost in Río Grande over the last two and a half years. In La Matanza, Mayor Fernando Espinoza criticized the national government's economic adjustments, stating that the loss of medical coverage for over 2.2 million people is placing unsustainable pressure on municipal public health systems.
