La Murada Sports Centre restores lighting after cable theft

Lighting has been restored at the La Murada Sports Centre in Orihuela following the replacement of copper cables that were stolen in August. The reinstallation of the cables has enabled the four lighting towers servicing the football field to function again, allowing clubs and athletes to resume nighttime training and matches.

Sports Councillor Víctor Sigüenza stated that the restoration fulfills a commitment made to local residents and the La Murada Sports Club. While the lighting is operational, the council is still working to restore gas pipes and conduits that were also stolen during the incident. Full normality to the facilities is expected once these remaining repairs are completed in the coming days.
