La Nobile Arte documentary chronicles 110 years of Italian boxing

“La Nobile Arte” is a new documentary directed by Vincenzo Lamagna that explores 110 years of Italian boxing history. Produced by Nexting – SportFace in collaboration with Rai Documentari and supported by the Federazione Pugilistica Italiana, the film is structured into ten symbolic rounds.

Each round focuses on specific themes, values, or personalities, moving beyond mere athletic competition to examine discipline, respect, inclusion, and personal redemption. The documentary features a wide array of figures, including champions such as Patrizio Oliva and Francesco Damiani, alongside modern athletes, actors, and journalists.

Utilizing archival footage from Rai and the FPI, the project traces the evolution of the sport from legendary ring figures to new generations, including female boxing and ParaBoxe. The documentary project was presented at the Venice Production Bridge during the 83rd Venice International Film Festival.
