La Notte del Mare event highlights Calabria's Blue Economy

The fourth edition of ‘La Notte del Mare’ was held at the Castello Murat in Pizzo, Calabria, focusing on the relationship between the Mediterranean and its coastal communities. The event, which was broadcast on the national television network Rai 2, integrated music, scientific research, environmental protection, and economic innovation.

Pietro Falbo, President of the Chamber of Commerce for Catanzaro, Crotone, and Vibo Valentia, participated in the event to highlight the strategic importance of the Blue Economy for Calabria’s development. He emphasized the need to view the sea as a driver for growth through sectors such as tourism, logistics, fishing, and nautical services. Falbo specifically noted ongoing initiatives like the ‘Cala Green’ project for pollution monitoring in Crotone and the ‘Kruise Hub’ project aimed at enhancing cruise attractiveness in the Ionian coast.

The program featured musical performances by artists including Fabio Concato and Nina Zilli, alongside contributions from academic researchers and environmental experts discussing maritime sustainability and innovation.
