La Notte della Taranta Festival Itinerante 2026 launches across Salento

The 2026 itinerary of the La Notte della Taranta music festival will run from 30 July to 19 August, travelling through twenty municipalities in the Salento peninsula. The edition, themed “Le vie del Mediterraneo”, aims to showcase the cultural exchange of the Mediterranean, pairing traditional Salento pizzica with minority languages and music from the Aspromonte, Sicily, Sardinia, Albania and Morocco.

Artistic direction is overseen by Fabio Chiriatti and Renata Nemola. The tour culminates in the Concertone at Melpignano on 22 August, with singer‑songwriter Ermal Meta serving as maestro concertatore and choreography by Fredy Franzutti. Festival president Massimo Bray highlighted the event as a “shared Mediterranean” that uses culture to counter violence. The program includes electronic acts such as Trevize, Kalàscima and Inude, as well as a roster of regional and international artists and a career award for Peppe Barra.
