La Nueva Historia band involved in Route 5 traffic accident

The cumbia group ‘La Nueva Historia’ was involved in a traffic accident on Route 5 near Progreso, Uruguay. The group was traveling from a performance in Villa Ansina, Tacuarembó, back to Montevideo when their minibus collided with the rear of a forestry truck.

Emergency services rescued a 28-year-old passenger who had been trapped in the vehicle. The individual was treated for knee and foot injuries and transported to Médica Uruguaya. The group's singer, Jonathan, confirmed via social media that the damages were primarily material and that the members are recovering.
