La Oreja de Van Gogh to star in new musical film ‘Puedes contar conmigo’

Spanish pop group La Oreja de Van Gogh has announced a new cinematic project titled ‘Puedes contar conmigo’. The film will be a romantic musical that uses the band’s extensive repertoire as its narrative and emotional foundation, rather than being a traditional biopic.

Directed by Fernando González Molina and co-written by Miguel López Martínez, the project is currently in an advanced stage of script development. The band members will serve as executive producers, ensuring their music is integrated into the story. The production team includes Beltrán Cortázar, Domingo Corral, and Gonzalo Salazar-Simpson.

The announcement coincides with a significant period for the group, which includes the return of original lead vocalist Amaia Montero and a successful comeback tour. The film aims to be an intergenerational cinematic event with international ambitions.
