La Orotava launches Christmas toy donation campaign
The La Orotava City Council has announced the return of the ‘Apadrina una ilusión’ campaign, a solidarity initiative designed to ensure that children from low-income families in the municipality receive Christmas gifts.
Interested participants can register as godparents between November 3 and November 18 via email or telephone. Donors are asked to provide new educational or recreational toys. Once registered, participants will receive specific information regarding the gift they are expected to prepare.
Municipal social workers will coordinate the campaign, assessing the needs of local families to determine recipients and organizing the distribution of gifts. Toy collection is scheduled to take place between December 1 and December 11 at the La Torrita Multi-purpose Building.
