La Palma hosts filming for Paramount Pictures’ ‘Children of Blood and Bone’
The island of La Palma served as a filming location for the upcoming Paramount Pictures production ‘Children of Blood and Bone’ (known in Spain as ‘Hijos de sangre y hueso’). The film, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and based on the novel by Tomi Adeyemi, utilizes various landscapes on the island to construct the fantasy universe of Orïsha.
Specific locations used during filming include Los Tilos Forest, Llano del Jable, and Nogales. These sites showcase the island's diverse scenery, ranging from laurel forests to volcanic landscapes. The La Palma Film Commission supported the production to promote the territory as an audiovisual destination.
The film features an ensemble cast including Thuso Mbedu, Damson Idris, Amandla Stenberg, Tosin Cole, Cynthia Erivo, Lashana Lynch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Regina King, Idris Elba, and Viola Davis. The movie is scheduled for theatrical release on January 15, 2027.
